This cactus has one of the largest flower going. It is one of a dozen or more plants which belong to the hylocereus group which shares its origin among the lands of the Caribbean area.
The flowers, usually nocturnal in the height of summer, sometimes reaches 30 cm in diameter. The inner petals are white, but the outer segments are generally greenish yellow.
The plant which produces triangular stems, climbing freely, can be grown from its seeds. More often, it is usually grown stem cuttings.
